| At Tuesday’s Investor Day in New York, Volvo’s President and CEO Leif Johansson announced that the global recession had forced the Group to adapt all of its operations to today’s significantly weaker demand.
“The Group’s order intake has dropped substantially in several markets. Demand in Europe has slowed abruptly and the US market has continued to decline from its already low level.

| Studsvik has signed a long term contract with FPL Group for the treatment of medium-level (Class B/C) waste at the facility in Erwin.
This is the first contract for waste treatment that has been signed under Studsvik's new model for medium-level waste in the USA.
"The strong interest that we see from customers for this new model has convinced me that we will operate the waste treatment facility in Erwin profitably from 2009 and onwards," says Studsvik's CEO Magnus Groth.

| The President of Finland, Tarja Halonen, has been honored with the Swedbank Baltic Sea Award 2008. The award was handed over by the CEO of Swedbank Jan Lidén at a gala dinner at the Baltic Development Forum Summit in Malmö on 1st of December.
It is the second year the Swedbank Baltic Sea Award is handed out. The award is assigned to an individual or organization that has made an extraordinary contribution to the development of the Baltic Sea Region.
